A Bold Adventure is the master plan transforming the Abilene Zoo’s future. As the largest expansion in the zoo’s history, this multi-phase project will introduce new species, expand animal habitats, create immersive experiences, offer conservation and education opportunities, and provide welcoming spaces for families to connect with wildlife.
Designed to spark curiosity, foster a deeper appreciation for nature, and strengthen our impact on conservation, A Bold Adventure will inspire the next generation of wildlife advocates while creating extraordinary experiences for our community for decades to come.
Thanks to the citizens of Abilene, the future of the Abilene Zoo took a major step forward when voters approved a $15 million bond in 2023 in support of A Bold Adventure.
That investment launched the zoo’s largest expansion project in history, but the journey is not over. With a total cost of $27.5 million for Phase One: Wild Encounters and Ferocious Eats, we are continuing to raise the remaining funds needed to bring the vision to life.
Every gift helps move the project forward and helps us reach the finish line!
